Austiger,

I know you're from Austin, but can you really justify having UT that high after they crapped the bed against Ark St?

Meanwhile, dem Sooner boys put an epic ass whooping on UNT. BOOOOOMER!!!!!!!!!!!

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, I'm not putting much stock in either game, but you could be right. We will know a lot more in a week.

I know ND sucks. But I had Georgia Tech in the Top Ten going into the season anyway. Tashard Choice was the leading rusher in the ACC last year, and he's got pretty much his whole line back. Plus, as you saw against Notre Dame, their front seven's ridiculous.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm glad Bennett has one more game before a conference opponent. Hopefully they don't try to just pound out the game and he gets 30-40 attempts to get in the flow of the offense.

Also, it's better than just the front 7 because they have 4 great ends who just keep rotating in all game. Johnson, Morgan, mOliver, Robertson.

I think it's cool to see a pro-Cal consensus on this thread. They are, indeed, very very good. They are only ranked number 10 in both polls though (and I think they are better than that).

For reference here are the top ten to both major polls this week:

AP
1. USC (59) 1-0 1,619
2. LSU (5) 1-0 1,542
3. West Virginia (1) 1-0 1,449
4. Florida 1-0 1,346
5. Oklahoma 1-0 1,275
5. Wisconsin 1-0 1,275
7. Texas 1-0 1,221
8. Louisville 1-0 1,152
9. Virginia Tech 1-0 1,085
10. California 1-0 1,080

Coaches:
1. USC (49) 1-0 1,486
2. LSU (4) 1-0 1,417
3. Florida (7) 1-0 1,341
4. West Virginia 1-0 1,275
5. Wisconsin 1-0 1,183
6. Oklahoma 1-0 1,146
7. Texas 1-0 1,136
8. Louisville 1-0 995
9. Virginia Tech 1-0 988
10. California 1-0 985

Observation: UF got 7 first place votes in the coaches poll! Wow.

So if OU played Wisconsin played it would be a tie game forever?
(its just what I always think when I see this happen in polls)

Guys, where's App. State? They knocked off a top 5 team. Give them their due credit, please.

From their website.

[ QUOTE ]
Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains of northwestern North Carolina, Appalachian State University has built a national reputation for providing outstanding academics. With a student/faculty ratio of 17:1, faculty members are able to take a personal interest in student progress, often becoming mentors, advisers, and friends - even tennis partners. That can only happen in a close-knit community.

[/ QUOTE ]

Specifically, they are located in a small town called Boone, NC. I've never been there, but I know a professor there. I hear it is beautiful.

Please tell me this is what you meant.
