If I lead this flop I'm pretty sure I'd just shove over a raise.

As played I'd shove the turn, I think you're going to see a lot of hands you beat play this way, maybe even any overpair. I'll run some pokerstove calculations in a little bit.

I like the c/f on the turn, but I don't get vibe-thing on the flop. Sure I sometimes get vibes during a hand, I sometimes ignore them and sometimes I don't. This seems like a perfect spot to ignore it though, you bet the flop hoping to get raised and you get raised. There's not much to build a vibe on here other than a timing tell which seems sketchy and not enough to not 3-bet which seems like the obvious action.

Are we to assume our line doesn't look like the naked As and that he is PSB'ng the turn to protect his AQ/Q9/98 type crap?

Fwiw, I'm not a big fan of donking on the monotone flop IF I plan on folding to a blank turn (with a blank being a non spade).

i agree i should b-3b

there's something to the vibe though. i guess i've played so many hands that i have an innate sense for certain things. i'm sure everyone is that way to a certain degree. sometimes it's the timing that triggers something in the back of your mind, or sometimes it's the bet sizing that subconsiously reminds you of a hand you played awhile ago. often i just get a "feel" that someone either flopped something big for me, or is about to c/r me. i'm not always right, and i feel really stupid when i'm wrong, but when i see the showdowns, i'm correct often enough that i know it exists

How does this range look?

Text results appended to pokerstove.txt

1,936 games 0.005 secs 387,200 games/sec

Board: 8s 9s Qs 6d
Dead:

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 37.035% 37.04% 00.00% 717 0.00 { 8c8d }
Hand 1: 62.965% 62.96% 00.00% 1219 0.00 { AcAs, AdAs, AhAs, KcKs, KdKs, KhKs, QQ, 99, AsKs, AsJs, AsTs, KsJs, KsTs, Ks7s, Q9s, JTs, 98s, 7s6s, 7s5s, 6s5s, AsQc, AsQd, AsQh, JTo }

I didn't feel right giving him all nut flush combinations, since his line reeks of a strong vulnerable hand, mostly low flushes, sets, two pair, and overpairs (with flush draws). This is a pretty tight range though and I didn't put in any combinations of AA/KK no spade, TT/JJ with a spade, AQ without a spade, AK with a spade, A9 with the As, etc. So I think that we actually have a bit over 40% equity on the turn and should shove this.
