I use a different formula for #1. You can simplify the equation somewhat by including your opponent's initial bet to the right side of the equation:
2 x (amount you need to call) + (current pot including bets) = pot-sized bet/raise This way you will work in multiples of two rather than three which I think is a bit easier. In addition, online on say Pokerstars, you would only need to look at the "Pot: X" tab at the top and add it to twice the number displayed next to your "Call" button. "Example 1: your opponent bets $75 into a $100 pot." Stars will display the current pot as 175 and indicate that you have to call 75, thus: 2 x (75) + (175) = 325 |
