No one here would ever fold a pair here preflop and you know it.

So [censored] what?

It's the best play and it's the best play.

Who cares what people actually do? This is such a frustratingly idiotic post.

Agree. I fold 44 pre here and don't think twice about it.

Dude, you really gotta work on your people skills.

It's funny though, because the last two 10K events I played, I busted by calling a PF raise from the blinds with a small PP and questionable implied odds. While a sample size of two isn't exactly telling, some of the commentary in this thread is.

I don't think I'm ever calling pre here - maybe make it 5K, push most flops if called if I'm feeling frisky (not vs people that shove light), but not calling. I'd obv call 88, maybe even 77-66 just because there are a bunch of flops I like, but 44 = meh.

anyway I c/f here but push the turn if I get that far.

calling pre is pretty weak looking for set only. If your intentions are not just to look for set and plan to take it away out of position, you better have a good read on your opponent AND his impressions of you. Either way, it cost too many chips to play it out of position, whether check raising, leading or check/call/leadout.... fold pre.

But it's true, folding pf with pairs is so hard live.

That said I still like a call but don't like this board to continue on.

Dude, I'm not arguing that. I probably end up calling there like 90% of the time.

I'm surprised there's not more emphasis on the flop call.
On the flop, we didn't hit, we're OOP versus a live player who's playing a hand an orbit, raised more than 3x pf and is betting 2/3rds pot on the flop. How are we not insta-folding here? I don't like the call at all.

Anyhow, she may be ugly, but you're already at the prom, you're going to have to dance with your date. Push the turn.

The way the hand has played out i would push the turn. Otherwise normally i would just fold preflop. Even though 44 is my favorite hand.

Whether or not anyone would actually do it, folding pre is definetly the play IMO. As for turn,I think check folding is still the best play, especially if the player is a thinking, goodish player. Because I agree with djk that I'm snap calling top pair here if you shove.
