So the Student Bar Association at the law school I'll be attending next month keeps sending me brochures and [censored] to give them money. Should I do it?

lol, no. Write back and explain that they must be confused, they're supposed to be begging from rich alumni, not poor students.

I'm in law school and my girlfriend and I just made a generous joint donation to our UG alma mater. $1. Probably cost them more than that to process it and send the thank you note.

I worked the phonathon a couple years in college and I hated calling freshly graduated alumni and asking for money, but then the random one here or there would donate $50, $100, $1000 (usually from their parents still).

Unless you're poker rich on the side or ballin at a big firm , then no. If you are, then the answer is who cares.
