Default Sake Bombing in NYC

I love sake bombing, but don't really know that many places in NYC that even condone it. The only place I really know is some small underground dive in the East Village (near one of the NYU dorms), but even there, they'll often give you dirty looks or tell you to stop. I forget the name of it.

Any places you guys know that I should be hitting up?

Wtf is wrong with your city. Every sushi joint I've been to in DC has Hill Douches chanting and dropping glasses. Not that s-bombing isn't fun. But still, wow, buzzkill.

They recently stopped allowing it at Ru Sans in Atlanta. I guess the rationale is that it condones binge drinking?

Agree, but when I explain this to them, they suddenly don't understand English again.

Lol at Japanese people looking down on binge drinking. All we Japanese do is binge drink, I don't think we know any other way.

i don't really do sake bombs too much, but everytime I do it, i've had no probs from the wait staff... just don't go all crazy and start shouting and standing up on your chair and stuff and you should be fine. Just sit in your chair, say cheers, drop in your cup and down it.

If you're actually looking for the whole experience where everyone stands in their chair and does this in unison, i haven't seen one of those in nyc. If this place you talk about in the east village has this - i'd love to check it out - what is this place called?

I'm not looking to chant anything at the top of my lungs, but I do have a strong preference for the balancing of the shot glass on the chop sticks and then banging the tables. But I'd settle for quietly dropping the shot glass in the beer too.

And yeah, the place is called decibel. Interesting little place.
