Re: Two hands, live, just wondering if I made the correct plays
[ QUOTE ]
yup, if you play KK like they're Rocket fuel you might as well not play at all. The odds of two players being dealt AA and KK on the same hand are pretty low, something like 500-1, I don't know the exact number but I know its highly unlikely. It does happen, but not often enough for me to fold KK PF(in most situations) [/ QUOTE ] This is a complete hijack but your cards are known in this spot. You have KK. So looking for the odds of AA vs KK without knowing that you have KK is irrelevant. That is like saying that, when there are three aces on the flop, the odds that someone has the fourth ace are close to nil because the odds of flopping quads is so small. The odds are 220:1 of being dealt aces (its actually better than that after we remove the kings from the deck) The odds of someone having aces at a 9 handed table is therefore 24.44:1. (220/9) Therefore if you are at a 10 person table and you have KK then you will run into AA approximately 4% of the time. Not exactly the .2% (500:1) that you claimed in your reply |

Re: Two hands, live, just wondering if I made the correct plays
I'd be more inclined to fold KK had villain raised to 400 PF than pushing. obv i'd still push
your friends are terrible at poker. dont ever listen to them |

Re: Two hands, live, just wondering if I made the correct plays
well, i said something like, i wasn't sure of the exact number. 4% is still very low. Still my point was, Under "most circumstances" I'm not folding KK because I'm afraid a raiser or r/r has me dominated with AA.

Re: Two hands, live, just wondering if I made the correct plays
Thanks, everyone. I appreciate your kindness in replying.
I'll take your advice, kniper Sorry for being results oriented in my post. I actually tried not to be. I just wanted to give you as much info as I could on my read and situation. Would posting villain's hands be wrong now? Seriuosly, I'm new to this. I always like to know villains' hands after a post has been replied to often. It helps me to know how other people are playing and what they might be thinking. |

Would posting villain's hands be wrong now? [/ QUOTE ] If you want to get it off your chest then you can post results now... I don't think that they are going to influence your feedback at all. Always keep in mind that results in this one hand truely are irrelevant. It is the long run that matters. |

Agreed. I don't think the results would change anyone's feedback in this case.

Re: Two hands, live, just wondering if I made the correct plays
No, I realize that. I hope it wouldn't influence the feedback.
I like seeing how villains think. However, in this case, it doesn't matter, because he's a pretty poor player. First hand: A8o Second hand: AQs (better, at least) |
