Default Two hands, live, just wondering if I made the correct plays

14 person tourney (11 left), six at my table, blinds are 75/150. EP raises all in with 1650. I have double his chips. I'm positive he has A high or a small pp. I'm CO. I have KK. Should I call?

A few orbits later, same player. Blinds are 100/200. Villain raises to 600. I'm sure that he does not have AA or KK. I have about 1600 chips left. I have AKs. Do I call or go all-in?

Hand1: How can you be so certain about what his range is? Personally I will push a variety of hands here in villains shoes. An easy call from you of course, the push was for 16 big blinds and we are easily ahead of his range. It surprises me that this is not obvious to you.

Hand2: How the heck do you know he doesn't have KK+? How do you think he would play those? His range is certainly a lot wider than KK+, but I am just saying, KK and AA are probably in it. And yeah, this is a retardedly easy all-in too, with just 13 big blinds.

You shouldn't post hands just because you lost them, but rather post hands where you felt your decisions were hard. I'm sure you reacted pretty instantly without taking much time in both spots here. That is because they were both easy pushes, and you knew that.

Don't be results oriented.

I'm a she.

I know this player well, hence the reads.

Thanks for the replies. I thought I played them correctly, but a few friends (who were in the tourney) said they would fold the KK.

Also, I was just wondering if I should have called the AK and then gone all-in on the flop based on my read, but obviously not.

It's hard not to be a little results oriented when you know the results and others are questioning your actions.

I posted here because it was an MTT, although a small one. Sorry for my mistake.

Didn't mean to be rude.
Your OP came off as a bad beat story "I knew exactly what they had so I got my money in with the right play but my hand lost..." is usually not a great starting point for discussion and neither is "I had KK preflop..."

It just seemed that you were being way too results oriented in these hands because they could not be any more standard.

Folding KK preflop in an MTT, especially since the pusher only has 11bbs,especially if you think that you are NOT up against AA, is so bad that it is hillarious. Your friends who said it was a mistake might be good people but they are horrible poker players.

Hand two is a push, if you were in the blinds a stop and go could be considered (although I think that it is inferior because of the times that you let AQ/AJ/KQ off the hook) but your post made no mention of position so I assumed you were the button.

yup, if you play KK like they're Rocket fuel you might as well not play at all. The odds of two players being dealt AA and KK on the same hand are pretty low, something like 500-1, I don't know the exact number but I know its highly unlikely. It does happen, but not often enough for me to fold KK PF(in most situations)

The only place folding KK preflop could be consider is very deepstacked in a major event against a solid player who is clearly representing aces.
