You don't get the money immediately if you have no need for the item... you have to eBay it off or sell it to someone in person, so there is still a delay. For somebody who's not good at getting around to mailing things, doing a resale that's not in person is a pain in the ass, so after I get what I want (say, a TV and the 80 gig iPod)... what's so awful about doing the bonus? (Except of course the point/cash value.)

Most novas could probably poop out $1500 if they really, really tried. EDIT: LOL

I just thought I would have a look at a couple of items in the list at UK prices and came up with these two:
Samsung 20" - 0.021 Bose Soundock - 0.024 Looks like electronics are the way to go for us Brits because of the extortianate prices we have to pay over here. Please correct me if I'm wrong as it's still early and I'm at work so can't actually look at Pokerstars site.

The best value for FPP's is the FPP turbo satellite for the sunday tourney. 1 buy-in, 1 rebuy and 1 add-on for a max. of 1200 FPP that converts into T$ 215, easily sold for $200+ afterwards (if you don't play touneys). If you are able to cash in 1 out of 4 of theses tourneys, you double (at least) the value of your FPPs and trade them for cash.
If you have to give up a cash game table to play the tourney and you mean you make more at the cash table then it's another story.
