his weighted OPS is 1 pt higher. Winfield was more consistent but no black ink so not dominant in any category
I am conceding that Winfield was definitely the better player, but am arguing that it was closer than you guys are giving credit for

Dave Winfield, 12358, 129 Adj OPS+ Rice's OPS+ is artificially inflated compared to a guy like Andre Dawson and Dave Winfield because he didn't play through his decline phase. For example, through Dave Winfield's first 9500 PA, his AdjOPS+ was 134. Also, when you consider Rice was overrated by OPS because of his low OBP, and some of the guys I mentioned were CFs (Dawson, Murphy), he's closer to those guys than Dave Winfield.
