Well, I just bought a house and the first kid is on the way, so I have pretty good incentives not to go broke playing poker.

I blow $80-120 on a tournament once every couple months, haven't cashed yet but have come close, but I'm not (yet) good enough to be a winning player at the $1-2 NL ring games and can't afford to just blow one buy-in there, let alone several. Also, their tournament structures really suck. You only start with 30BB and after 40 minutes the BB is up to 13% of your starting stack. If you don't get cards or aren't able to time bluffs absolutely perfectly, you're quickly reduced to shoving pre-flop and hoping nobody behind you has a better hand.

I'm playing a lot more online, though I find it much less enjoyable than live action.

If the casinos would have $20-30 STT, I'd play there more, though I understand from their perspective those don't maximize their rake.

They will start a list and spread one if 10 people will play.

Is there a best day/time to catch one?

They offered one over the weekend -- Saturday I think -- but I don't think it filled. I've seen a list for one almost every time I've been there. Usually I think they are $35. If we are there at the same time, I'm in.

Also, don't blame you about not playing much poker with a child on the way! Wouldn't stop me, of course, but that's one of the reasons I don't have kids Pete has three, but the youngest is six, so no need for diaper money. Pete just bought a new house, too, and one of the best parts (besides the fact that I can keep my horses there) is that it's 10 minutes closer to Caesars!

Well, I'll make sure to put my name in next time I go. If my wife goes too that gets us 20% of the way there to filling one up, and I'll make sure to post here to let you know we'll be there.
