Definitely bet the flop, you don't want to give flushdraws/overs a free card here.

yeah, definitely bet the flop - you showed strength by re-raising and will often take it down on the flop as you're repping a strong pair. i'd bet 40 on the flop. if someone raises, then you can look at folding, i think, depending on the player.

edit: oops didn't see the stack sizes. if you bet 40 on flop, you're basically committed, so yeah i'd call any reraise (which would be all in for you). as played, i'd probably think about calling the river and fold. that's also why i prefer betting the flop, as it makes the hand play out easier for you.

i guess thats the downside, betting commits me if i make a healthy bet, a weak bet generally leads to 2nd guessing on a decently dry board like this (ppl could be playing back cause of my weak bet) - but i doubt getting it in on the flop is gonna be in my favour without a read that villains r donkish. Overall though i think betting 30 and folding to a raise readless is prob the best play, as played flop - r turn and river fine?

Markusis, this is for the post that you deleted. The A5 one. Took awhile to write it so figured I'd throw it your way.

Honestly I think the best thing you could have done was wait for a better hand to press him with. Once you made that initial decision to 4bet, man I mean you really only have about a PSB left. I can see where you're coming from on the flop check. Once you stick that $30 in, the rest is determined. You're certainly not folding now. You have the maniac right where (hopefully) you want him.

Like I said, the biggest thing I would change is the hand you selected to finally look him up with.

Bet the flop. If Tatiana Whodafck shoves, instacall. If the other dude shoves, whatever, use your Spidey-sense.

thx for reply, i had deleted since i thought hand was decently straight forward after pf which is obv player dependant - i agree that after betting the turn so weak to induce i def cant fold and i really thought he would give my 4bet decent credit as i hadnt gotten out of line yet at that point. But waiting for a good hand would have prob been profitable against said opponent. Turns out he had jj and played the hand pretty hideously IMO - he shouldve shoved or folded pf and i dont know if turn was for value or to maybe fold kk or qq - either way pretty terrible as i was clearly potstuck.
