Default Meta-Game Trade-off : Making a bad call in exchange for image

This concept may be discussed ad nauseum here, but I'm not a regular in this forum. If it is discussed, could you please point me to the appropriate search words or some juicy threads?

In an MTT, there will be times when it is advantageous to make a bad mathematical call in exchange for tournament momentum, whereby one's table image gives carte blanche for blind stealing, and if one wins the unfavorable gamble, one might be left with a very healthy stack as the bubble approaches, further adding to the momentum.

Have there been any discussions here on how to approach this mathematically or somewhat systematically? I suspect the ICM stuff may come into play, but it's not so much about the ICM value as it is about the table image values as they derive from folding to a re-pot or push versus making a mathematically incorrect call.

I'm not sure it can be done mathematically, but I'll take this risk if I'm big stack on a table raising aggressively nonstop and a medium stack jams over right as I get started.

If I win the flip (I'm really not always behind, especially because the jamming ranges here loosen up), I get a monster stack and a "Don't play back at me" image and I continue to run over the table.

1. Will the opposition notice
2. Are you likely to encounter your opponents again ie recurring field
3. Do you play often enough that it matters
etc

I belive ZJ wrote an article in bluff discussing this topic +( I thought it good)

I do not see the value of balancing my playbook vs possible future events that I may hope for and with to many variables to put value on.

I attempt to get a feel for my regular stake and balance my book towards it and adjust as fit vs opponents that give me reason to believe I should. And accomodate to the pace of the table, mine/oppositions stacksize, and the various stages of the Mtt.
