Default Poker on Thanksgiving (LC)

So, I'm just curious about this since Full Tilt has a $163 buy-in $50K Gtd KO tourney at 17.00 EST today. I know we're all degens, but who plays poker on Thanksgiving? It's just an ordinary Thursday for me and I know little about your traditions, but isn't 17 EST like when the whole family gathers around the table for turkeys and [censored]? If so, this tournament could basically be a battle for us Europeans who don't celebrate Thanksgiving? Or do you just excuse yourselves and bring your plate to the computer?

Thanksgiving day is the day where the largest number of Americans play poker.

So it's actually an obsolete tradition and should be renamed to Online Poker Day? Alright, I just thought this was one of the few days you should be spending with your family and relatives.

I work as a poker dealer in a casino and I can honestly say that Thanksgiving is one of the busiest days of the year without any special events going on.
