Ship it USC. The first time in 5 games I am proud of how they played.

He looked incredible today. Clearly the front-runner at this point?

Jake Locker is being taken off of the field on a stretcher right now. He currently is not moving *at all*... it looks like it could potentially be a pretty disastrous injury. Just when it couldn't get worse for Washington fans. Yikes.

When I saw that a Husky was hurt (before I realized how serious it was) my first words were "Please let it be Locker." I now feel like a pretty major jackass. I'll keep you posted as soon as FSN learns more and tells it to me.

What happened to cause the injury?

Unnoficially, based on what a sideline reporter overheard the EMTs telling Locker's father, he has "pain" in his neck, but also has movement. Tentatively is sounds like good news, considering... but it's an early report. More information is of course still needed to be sure.

ETA: I'm not sure what actually happened, when I switched over to check on the game he was already on the ground, surrounded by teammates. It sounds like it was a hit to the head of some kind, but it must have been pretty bad because they haven't shown a replay yet...

Ugh...that's because ESPN's using Fresno's crappy local network feed (I live in Fresno). These guys are so terrible that I used to mute them & turn on the local radio broadcast instead, but now everything's delayed so I can't.

He made helmet-to-helmet contact making a downfield block and immediately dropped to the ground. The hit didn't really look that bad.

he was the ball carrier and the defender headhunted. type of play that deserves a penalty (one wasn't called).

pretty pathetic play by the defender imo but something that happens in every game and would be forgotten by the next day if it weren't for the injury.
