Default Saving keystrokes in Windows XP

When I take notes on a player, I like to note the situation, (tournament or cash, date, etc). To me, the date is especially important. I'm playing micros, and someone who is playing in a $1 SNG now may be a much different player a year from now when I meet him in a $10 tournament.

Is there a way to set up macros in XP to store text that I can type out on PokerStars? I have a reference book (Windows XP Gigabook for Dummies, 882 pages) and couldn't find anything about macros.

Thanks for your help.

Look into AutoHotkey. You can write a script to type out the date with one hotkey.
