Re: A \"do I owe my friend this money\" thread, slightly atypical
I disagree with the replies that I have skimmed:
Room: There is a hotel room that 6 guys stayed in. You want it to be split 5 ways? Pay the room. If you want a cheeper room or if you want a bed then take care of arrangements yourself. Dinner: You went out to dinner as a group. You are adults. It should be assumed that you are not going to nit up the bill and everyone will just pay 10%. If you can't afford that then you should have asked the server for a separate check. You didn't do that. Pay the piper. |

[ QUOTE ]
I think the least classy part of this story is the bachelor emailing all the guys and telling them to pay up. For one, he shouldn't have paid for it in the first place if it were properly planned. Second, if the guy HAS to ask for the money that fast, I think a phone call is in order. Maybe its just me, but the bachelor is coming off as a bit of a douche at this point. [/ QUOTE ] Bachelor is already married. LDO Fiance bitched him out about the $. |

Re: A \"do I owe my friend this money\" thread, slightly atypical
OP,
You really should have said something about this before dinner. It is just expected that by default things will be split up evenly in dinners like this. It's perfectly reasonable and acceptable for you to pay less given the situation, but you have to say something. There's a good chance nobody even noticed that you were having less and not drinking. |

Re: A \"do I owe my friend this money\" thread, slightly atypical
You put your bag in the room, so that pretty much shows that you intended to stay there. Just because you ended up crashing somewhere else doesn't matter, I don't think.
The restaurant bill thing is a different story though. You should have been able to pay for only your portion of the bill -- plus a contribution towards the bachelor's bill, if that is what everyone else was doing as well. |

Why the [censored] is the bachelor the one emailing about the room cost. It was his bachelor party. He shouldn't even KNOW the room cost.
The restaurant deal tells me you need new friends. |
