Default what software is the most resource friendly?

currently i play on ftp and am using pt/pahud/spadeeye/ftp shortcuts. these are all good programs, but my comp gets pretty bogged down after playing for a while, although i'm sure some of that has to do with ftp software itself.

are alternate huds/db more resource friendly than pahud/pt?

what about spadeeye vs sixth sense?

also, if i ran pt off of my laptop and shared the db with my pc, would that help significantly? (i've done some other things that i've read here about. setting priorities, windows classic, etc)
