Default 3 bet gets 4 bet deep in Sunday Million

About 80 ppl left I think. I have an avg-ish stack of 450k and Zralok has a big stack. He has been playing quite aggressively the last couple rounds. This was his 3rd open in the last 5 or 6 hands, and second in a row. I thought and 3 bet, and he INSTA 4 bet allin. His pokerdb shows only large buyin tourneys played with decent but not great results.

Only responding because I know the "online default" is to reraise here, and everyone and their mother is gonna disagree with me on this one but...

Default should be to just call there preflop. If you raise, you are turning your hand into a bluff. MAYBE AJ will lose his stack to you if the flop is ace high with no queen or ten. MAYBE KQ will lose his stack to you if the flop is queen high with no jack or ten.

And btw, if you just call, the flop doesn't need to have an ace or queen on it for there to be value in continuing, not to mention occasionally bluffing if you can somehow put him on a medium pocket pair after some postflop action.

As played, seems like an easy fold unless you have strong reason to believe he is super aggro, or you have past history.

ZJ I was going to say similar don't 3bet PF unless you are snapcalling a shove,

Doing this with 58s is fine though.

Yeah, 3betting this deep is really bad.

ZJ is right, but if I 3 bet here it's because he's exactly this type of player and I'm calling.

This is one of those spots where you're like : ZOMG crazy aggro guy raises and I have AQ lolz yessss I raise....oh [censored].

It's much more profitable to call and rope a dope.

yeah significantly deeper you can threebet without being willing to stack off, but w/ 40-45 bb i think you have to threebet/snap call shove or just call the first time.

If you are in Zralok's spot, and you are raising ~30-35% of hands, do you want T_Mac to reraise AQ/99 type hands preflop vs. you or do you want him to flat call?

I would want T_Mac to flat call vs. me if I'm raising that wide.
