Default Absolute switching to \'contributed method\' of rake calculation

[ QUOTE ]
Dear Affiliates,

Please be aware that starting February 1, 2007, Absolute Poker is going to be changing the way they calculate player rake to follow suit with industry standard. Absolute Poker will be calculating rake based on the t_rake method or what is known as the contribution method.

Please note that this will be included in our Terms and Conditions:

2.6 "Net Revenue" is calculated as the sum total of all Players' rake contribution and tournament fees generated at Our Site less any credits, bonus or promotional amounts given to Players, processing charges and any other uncollectible revenue, as well as rake contributions by prop players. With the t_rake method (contribution method) a player only generates rake when they actually contribute money to the pot.

An example of this would be:

If a player contributes $2 to a $10 pot, and AP collects $0.50 as rake from that pot, then t_rake = ($0.50 x $2) / $10 = $0.10

The player gets allocated the weighted proportion of the pot that you contributed.

Please email us at affiliates@absolutepoker.com with any questions or concerns you may have about this.

Regards,

To me it sounds like they will deduct bonus $ from your total mgr. With the new bonus terms and now this Absolute is really going to piss some more people off.

**If I'm reading this right**

this changes a lot, PA alluded to this a while ago when it first broke...while this doesn't say it i don't think, i think u need to see the flop, so being in the blinds might not even count towards being contributed...this will hurt people's MGR a good amount...

The real kicker here is they deduct prop pay! Some of the limit holdem tables will have 4 props so their contribution doesn't even count towards MGR.

I thought Absolut was always considered contributed RB?
It looks like now they are deducting the bonus ....same as FT? Is Ultimate Bet the best place to play now?

Their terms have always mentioned deducting prop pay and bonuses. This might just mean they intend to actually do it.

If this is implemented, I don't see many reasons for regular players to continue playing there. We know that AP takes a very generous amount of rake, compared to some other sites. Some of us deal with that because of the other perks. This just means more people will leave.
