Over pair on the button, facing paired board & flush draw on flop
Party Poker ($0.5 no limit). Villain is 45/8/.78 Comments on Flop, Turn & River are appreciated.
BB ($91.85) (BB) MP ($46.89) (MP) CO ($24.74) (CO) UTG ($50.00) (UTG) SB ($51.15) (SB) <u>HERO ($80.55) [ ] (BTN)</u> Preflop (6 players): 2 folds. CO calls ($0.50). HERO raises $2.50. 1 fold. BB calls ($2.00). 1 fold. Flop ($5.75) in pot, 2 players: BB checks. HERO bets $5.50. BB raises $11.00. HERO calls ($5.50). Turn ($27.75) in pot, 2 players: BB checks. HERO checks. River ($27.75) in pot, 2 players: BB bets $10.00. HERO??? <font color="blue"> After review, it seems as though I should have fired a 2nd barrel on the turn and then folded to any further aggression. As played I think the right play is to fold to the river bet since all I can beat is a bluff. However, the tiny bet, the busted flush draw, the check on the turn, and the crappy villain makes me want to call. </font> |

Re: Over pair on the button, facing paired board & flush draw on flop
I like your play on this hand. Checking the turn is a good move as it keeps the pot under control. I don't hate giving a free card here too much. Busted flushdraws, 4x and pp's will all bet this river some of the time and getting those odds I think you have to call.

I agree with your review. You have a $10 bet in front of you and no information as to whether you are good or not.
I don't do this often, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say villain has 88. |
