Re: AQ in 3bet pot - minimizing loss
pro,
sorry, was watching friend play for a while. i agree with thac- you're turning your hand into a pure bluff pure and simple. as i posted in micros earlier tonight, really think about what you're doing with your hand and why. here you called PF with the intention of folding on one of the best possible flops for your hand. it's somewhat contradictory in nature, if that makes sense. either fold pf or call on this flop. what flop were you hoping for when you did call pf? these are some Qs to ask yourself while playing. furthermore, putting in 1/2 your stack and folding with TPTK in a rr-ed pot is not good. (as stated earlier), you're turning your hand into a bluff. why is this necessary? there are much better flop options available, even if you aren't content with stacking off in this spot. you can choose to flat call his bet on the flop w. the intention of doing something on the turn. you could raise and call on the flop. folding to his intial bet is not an option however. it just seems as if you are playing on sheer impulse and not thinking about your actions. |

his range pf is AA-TT, AK, AQ [/ QUOTE ] If you are working on this assumption then AQ really isn't worth calling with is it? If he 3 bets light from the blinds then you can open up his range and call here. If he doesn't open up his 3 betting range vs a button steal then you can't open up your calling range and should fold. |
