Default Opening with 22-99

So we wake up with a hand like 77. Is it sharp play to make a standard 4BB + limpers raise?

How does position affect this? I've been raising pretty much anything above 66 from any position, and anything 44 or above from the button. How does this feel?

I open any pp from any position in 6 max. I'll generally limp it if 2 or more people call in front though depending on the opponents. I pot it with 1-2 limpers, again depending on the opponents. Stacks, vpip, etc dictate that. But, if it gets folded to me I'm raising any pp anywhere.

Generally I limp after any bet other than a push with any pp under 66, call anything with 66-99 or raise them in position (ie on the button after limpers/folds), and raise/push 1010-AA.

If there is serious preflop action or resistance to any small PP's, I'm out of there immediately. Not worth the risk for a coinflip.

You really need to be in position to play pockets effectively, definitely weigh that factor in heavily when deciding to play.
