TT, should I bet anywhere?
$1/2 6m Absolute
CO seems a bit loose, last hand he cold called my CO raise w/KJo on Button. Not very aggressive postflop over small sample. Have yet to see him raise preflop. SB hasn't stood out much, but likely loose passive type. Also, I have been raising probably 1 out of every 3 hands for the last few orbits, so I probably appear to be bullying table, although I have gone to showdown on most of those and won. I open raise T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]T [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] in MP, CO 3bets, SB calls, BB folds, I call. Flop Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] SB check, I check, CO checks. I was planning to checkaise this flop Turn A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] SB checks, I check, CO checks. I am now planning on check folding as I assume I am crushed by his range River J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] SB checks, I check, CO bets, SB folds, I fold??? Really don't know what to make of the situation here. CO has played it very strange. Any reasonable 3betting hand has me beat here however, except perhaps 66-88. Any thoughts on this play or alternative action you might take? |

Re: TT, should I bet anywhere?
Small pot (4.5BB) and you are crushed by his range, just let this go.

And I play it the same, go for c/r on flop, and on that turn I am check folding.

I just c/c and play WA/WB on the flop.

Re: TT, should I bet anywhere?
You still play WA/WB on that turn if he had fired a continuation bet on the flop?

Re: TT, should I bet anywhere?
I don't like the idea of check calling as this is not a WA/WB situation. WA/WB requires that both of our hand values won't change very often. His likely range here is bigger pairs or overcards to our pair, so he is WA or likely has 6 outs plus a backdoor draw.
Checkraising this flop should yield some information about his hand strength, especially if SB calls in between. |

really not much more you could do... after flop gets checkd through the hand plays itself IMO.

Re: TT, should I bet anywhere?
This is so wierd that I may call the river.
Why dosen't he bet the flop or the turn? Obviously no Q and no A. Either he's getting jiggy pre flop with a hand like 88 or he has hit trip Q and trying in vain to reel you in but seems unlikely. The only card left is the jack and I'm not folding for the chance he has a jack. From the way he played it he could have 55,66,77,88,TT JJ or KJ. Sometimes I give up trying to read these people and just pay off in thin situations. I can't think of any other hands that fit this odd betting. pattern. So you're getting 4.5 to 1 and you beat over half of the above hands? Am I paying off too much? |
