Default Looking for Vegas Hotel search website

In the past I used a website for Vegas hotel reservations that would search over a dozen other other hotel reservation sites and give you the best available rates. It also marked where each hotel was on a big green map. It was a great resource but I can't find that website. Does that ring a bell? I'd like to use it again.

If you are looking for a Hotel, I would highly recommend the Four Queens:

http://www.fourqueens.com

They have recently remodled the rooms, and the prices are reasonable.

I found downtown a much better place than the strip for most everything, and you are just across the street from Binions for Poker.

Food is much better downtown and far less expensive, than on the strip.

While I've never stayed there, I have had friends who have and say Binions itself is an okay place to stay.

Binions if you call them, has a poker rate of $39 a night on the weekends, and $29 a night during the week.

You just have to after you check in, mosey down to the poker room, play in some live action, and have them certify you are playing there (at least some play) to get the rate.

Mention the rate as well when you call to book the room.

Link to their tourneys here:

Note: I was told when I was there, that their 10k event is changing from Sat and Sunday, to Friday and Sat, but I am not sure when that will go into effect.

Other than that, I did a simple search of the internet, and found this:

Hope that helps!

Oh yes, BTW, stay away from the fleebag hotel, The Orleans. Beds are horrible. No support, you can't sleep on them, and they put some sort of plastic mattress or something there, that makes you sweat your arse off all night long.

Worst hotel I've ever stayed in, and that says a lot since I used to travel (Road Warrior Status) a lot as part of one of my jobs.

I don't know if you count the Rio as being on the Strip, but that was where I ate when I left downtown (I had a week of free nights to use up at the Rio, and I was in Vegas for almost a month. I just got back last week from that trip).

I also talked to several locals who said that even places exactly on the strip are overpriced and not very good food wise, because the tourists tend to eat just about anything put in front of them, and pay outragous prices to do so.

As for Downtown, I ate at the Binions Coffee shop, and their Filet special is melt in your mouth delicious, all for under 13 bucks.

The Four Queens also had a prime rib dinner special that was pretty good, and if you had one of the Four Queen's player cards, only cost you about 7 or 8 bucks to eat there.

In the case of the Four Queens, if you are staying there, and playing there (at least some of the time) hunt down the Casino host there at the front hotel desk area, and he or she will most likely give you a free dinner every night you are there.

I mostly ate lunch (or rather in my case, brunch by the time I got up each morning) at the Paradise buffett across the street from the Four Queens, for just 7 bucks.

In past trips, I found this also the case (food too costly, and not very good), when I did eat at the Flamingo on the stip itself.

I also travel quite frequently, but I feel the opposite about the Orleans. I enjoyed my stay there and would do say again.

When were you there?

Steve, I was there just about a week a half ago (a Friday Night), and it was horrible.

I had a 11 hr drive back to Denver ahead of me on Sunday, and the people at the front desk were terrible as well.

I had explained the situation and told the Front desk clerk I expected more from a room where I was paying 100 bucks a night to sleep in (to say hey at least a bed I could sleep on), and had at first asked to be switched to another room, just in case it was just that one room, only to be told by the B*tch at the front desk, that all the rooms were alike and that it would be no good to change my room, so she refused to do so, told me I'd have to take it up with the manager in the morning, as they had no one in charge at that time (it was like 2am by then), and hey by the way, have a nice night (yeah right, like I'm going to have a nice night on a bed I can't sleep on).

I had booked the room for 2 nights, but checked out sleep deprived on Saturday Morning.

I had been told that the Manager's name (I can't remember exactly now) was I think Mellissa or something like that.

Well, I get to front desk to check out and demand my money back for my stay (as you have to prepay one nights deposit), ask to speak to this Mellissa or whomever, and was waved over by this woman, to whom I gave Mellissa's business card that the B*tch had given me when I came down there at 2am to try to get another room.

Thinking it's her, and addressing her by that name (and not being corrected), I go through my whole story, only to be told that she couldn't do anything, because she wasn't Mellissa.

Slightly irritated, I ask (again) to speak to Mellissa, and another woman is waved over, and (again) address this woman as Mellissa and don't get corrected, and launch into my story a 2nd time.

I get to the end of the story (which takes me about 3 or 4 min to go through all the twists and turns of what happened), only to have THIS woman tell me, sorry, only Mellissa can make that decision (about refunding my deposit).

Furious now, because I'm going to have to go through all of this a 3rd time, I start speaking very loudly, and telling the guests who are there, don't stay here, it's a horrible hotel, and why.

I even was told by some guests in the elevator going down, who like to gamble at the Orleans, but don't like the beds, that they actually bring mattresses to put on top of the Mattresses when they stay there, because the mattresses are so bad.

I bring this aspect up as well (very loudly, as I'm very p*ssed off by now).

While I'm waiting for Mellissa to come (she's in the back), much to the dislike of the desk clerks, I very loudly continue to warn the guests who are trying to check in how bad the beds are there. I will also point out that the 2nd woman I spoke with had taken Mellissa's business card from me, and I never got it back (I think by now they are worried I will write the powers that be about this whole situation, and want to make sure I don't have a name I can be sure of when I write to them).

So, finally Mellissa comes into the picture (after asking 3 frelling times for her, and the other women misrepresenting themselves as her), and I launch into my story for a 3rd time.

By this time I am very upset, and all Mellissa can offer to do, is make my 2nd night for half price.

You've got to be frelling kidding I say. Why in God's green earth would I want to pay 100 bucks a night for a bed I can't sleep on, or even 50 bucks, and I wanted a refund, for the night before, since I wasn't able to get any sleep.

In the end, all she would do, is refund half of my room rate, and charge me 50 bucks for a night where I couldn't use the bed and didn't get any sleep.

I ended up staying on Saturday night with a friend who had a condo booked, on the pull out couch in her condo.

Not very comfortable either, but at least it was free.

Needless to say, the 11 hr drive back to Denver (which actually took me close to 14 hrs this time) on Sunday was quite interesting.

I had to stop several times along the way to take cat naps, for fear I'd fall asleep at the wheel.
