Default Turning Stone

I am going to Turning Stone early next month and am curious as to what I will find for games.

Interested in both tournaments, and cash games. NLH, LHE and O8.

Also, whats the min bet for BJ.

Any information is appreciated.

Thanks

Probably no O8. If they do spread it prepare yourself for a comedy of errors with the dealers.

Last time I was there they had the following low limit games running:

2/4 limit
3/6 limit
5/10 limit
10/20 limit
3/6 PLO8 (runs rarely, always funny to watch the dealers wait to be told who won the pot)

1/2nl (100 max buy in)
1/2nl (200 max buy in)
1/2nl (300 max buy in)
2/5nl (500 max buy in)

They also run:
15/30
20/40
30/60 (rarely)

5/10nl ($20 bring in) (300 min buy in, no max buy in) -- this game runs on some friday afternoons and during tournament times.

The quality of play is higher than in AC but most players are still really really bad. If you are going to be playing one of the 1/2 nl games you should play pretty tight and wait for your monsters. You will get paid off when you hit big hands even if you have been folding for the past hour. Usually there are 2-3 people who know how to play at each low limit game and 7-8 people who literally have no idea what is going on.

The games are best before the school year and during natural academic breaks because they are a big draw to the upstate NY colleges.

For their tournament schedule check their website.

I only played LHE. Multiple tables of 2/4, so soft, 5-9 to see the flop. Lots of 1/2 NL. They even spread Omaha and Spread limit stud. Probably 20+ tables in poker the poker room. The golf is amazing as well.

sailorman,

If you are going during the Empire State Championships then GL hope you do well.

The will most likley spread 1 4/8 o8 game and normally mid tourney week they get a half half 20/40 game going holdem and o8.

2/4 limit
4/8 limit
15/30 limit
20/40 limit
4/8 O8B (runs mostly on weekends)
1-5 Stud (Monday-Thursday mornings, most of the day Friday and Saturday)

1/2nl (100 max buy in)
1/2nl (200 max buy in)
2/5nl (300 max buy in)
5/5nl (500 max buy in)

5/10nl ($20 bring in) (300 min buy in, no max buy in) -- this game runs infrequently on weekend afternoons and during tournament times.

FYP a little.

Tournaments aren't really worth it unless you do the $340 buy ins that run on Fridays (or wait for TS Tournament Time). Longer levels and more chips.

They also just added cash games to the Lightning Poker tables...1/2 NL (with probably normal sized PF raises in lieu of the 8.5BB raises you see at hundo max), 1/2 PL and 2/4 Limit.

Oh, and the min bet for BJ will more than likely be $10. If it's, say 5am on a Monday, you may see one $5 table (probably the handicapped one) by the tourney registration desk.

Games have changed last few mothns and these posts are not exactly right. For limit mon-thurs youll only see a 2/4 and 4/8 fri & weekends 15/30 goes
100 max goes round the clock many tables ,200 and 500 go everyday
the 300 min friday game NEVER goes

what happened to the 300 min game? maybe because it was during the WSOP and people were out of town? I remember that when big tourneys were at AC or Foxwoods the 300 min wouldn't get going because most of the players were out of town.

Yes 18+, but it's really like 15+. I've never seen them card and my friends have been in there openly sauced up and drinking with no problems from anyone.

The 300 min kinda drifted away towards the middle of last year, IIRC. Usually 500 (5/5) is the highest NL game around, with 15/30 or 20/40 being the highest Limit game around. During tournament time the games'll go up to 2500 NL (10/25) and 50/100 limit if it's the ESPC (in August).

I'm going for the Empire state championships in mid-August, will there be soft 5/10 games or will it be all the top 500NL players?
