The main event will be very interesting next year. Over under the number of entrants will be over 1,500?

I'll take the over for a billion dollars

I take that bet and you automatically lose because you cant take more than "1500 or higher" You can transfer the money to my stars account

You've now made two posts cluttering up this thread when the guy's intent is obvious. STFU

fish will not want to go through all the hoops.

cheers

This has been the pretty standard response when it comes to any potential ban.

However, I think "going through the hoops" is somewhat obscure - Getting set up with Neteller or Firepay, involves "hoops
but people do/did it.

Getting a PIN from the Crypto sites, was going through hoops, but people did that

Whatever online wire transfer method that might emerge if something restrictive of banks and or neteller will be a hoop - and people will go through it as well.

I mean Christ - can't someone just go get a money order or travelrs checks and deposit. Perhaps sites will absorb wire transfer fees or something of the like.

Point is - people will go through hoops with dreams of making their millions playing poker or other online gaming.

I think the real question is what poker sites will ban U.S. players? I know that everybody thinks that won't happen, but I think it's definitley possible.

[/ QUOTE ]

eh, why would they?

ok ok its a little low...felt like i was in a hurry for some reason posting it because there's many new posts developing...don't know why. set the line higher but my point is stars cant give a us resident a seat in a tournament if online poker is "illegal", whether it is enforced heavily or not. will be interesting seeing the event.

Intent is overrated. If this scenario has taught us degens anything, it's that semantics are everything.

With this bill, all casual (read sucky players) won't play because it will be too hard to get money into poker sites.

[/ QUOTE ]

You are wrong.

If you spent more time around losing degenerate gamblers in real life, you would understand that they would jump through a hundred hoops of fire in order to get their action fix.

However, I don't actually reccomend spending time with losing degenerate gamblers. They're not much fun most of the time.

[/ QUOTE ]

HAHAHA.
I am a degenerate gambler. But I am good, this is gonna hurt. Those dads sitting at home watchng pokjer at home and thinking it looks fun and then go and deposit are gonna be gone, and that will hurt the poker economy immensely.
AND, i dont think i'm that horrible to hang out with...lol

There is NOTHING in this legislation that makes poker illegal. This is really important to understand, and not getting it is really boneheaded.

The sites that turned away US players were all primarily sports books that had OPENLY advertised (nothing cute like a ".net poker school") to US players. That was not about poker at all and totally about sportsbooks.

You're very unlikely to find that Party/Stars etc will turn away US players anytime soon,

Yes they can. Online gambling is already illegal now anyway - Harrah's doesn't care who pays the entry fee.

Another thing we're forgetting is the thousands of people reading this who think they're not fish and will go through all sorts of hoops to deposit.
