Default Breaking up with a long-term girlfriend

Looking for advice or experience in breaking up with a longterm girlfriend. The relationship is basically just not a healthy one. Several close and good friends have talked to me about it.

how many chances do you give her?
what do you do if think that she'll be self destructive after?

jason

Just change your number and act like you don't know her. It'll totally freak her out.

relationships are pretty unique so i think you gotta give us at least a few paragraphs of what the situation is.

If you're not married yet and you are even seriously considering breaking up, break up.

we started going out both about 18 years old now 22. She was really immature at the start of it since it was her first relationship. Lots of drama and insecurity. Lately theres been minimal problems but still lots of tension and lots of arguments. Either its really good or really bad.

There has been 1 time where she was in a questionable spot with another guy when she got drunk. Another drunken time she almost got into a fight with me I was trying to retrain her and luckily other friends was there. She was drunk and thats when theres always trouble so she stopped drinking but cant completely just because we're young and have friends that go out and drink every so often. And just recently she got drunk to belligerent point and caused a huge scene that should never have gotten to that point. Well just say I couldve gotten seriously hurt.
