Default Pink Floyd: Synching Albums to Movies (Coincidence?)

I recently purchased the entire catalog from pink floyd (every album/every song) and have been reading a lot about the band and [censored] and one thing I keep on coming across on teh internets is constant reference to how albums match up to movies...

For example this site links the Dark Side of the Moon Album with The Wizard of Oz.

Another one is synching Echoes (et al) with 2001 A Space Odyssey

Echoes:2001 Space Odyssey Part I

Part 2

Part 3

Eitherway this is some cool $hit and I'll probably end up doing this when I get some free time after finals.

Has anyone ever noticed this or done this before?

check your favorite file sharing services. you should get good quality vids already synced for you.

a bit of it is psychological, if we think it synchs it will appear to synch better than it does. kind of like how any footage of a marching band played with any marching music will appear to synch

my roomate and I did dark side of the moon/wizard of oz last week for the first time.

It would pretty nuts and led to constant argument over whether it was done on purpose or pure coincidence.

The way the movements sync is obviously largely psychological but the way the words match up at times and the way the scene changes so often match with song changes is crazy to me.

I think the sync with darkside is undeniably beyond coincidence.

A precise sync for DSOTM + OZ is really imperative, but when it works it's quite impressive ...

Also, welcome to 1996
