its $12 for a down (40 minutes) usually, but was only $8 when shorthanded. And yea thats pretty much how it went down. "Hey man we dont want this game to break, so if you really are going to be that stubborn, we'll pay your first time for you" and we all threw a few bucks in.

He wasnt opposed to paying time, of course, just that he had to pay it right off the bat.
