Default What to use instead of WINDOW MEDIA PLAYER

Looking for something for both my 7,000 MP3 collection and use for videos (porn and DVDs).

WMP kinda sucks and its hard to sync my MP3 library to my external HD.

Not too concernced about video quality...just overall mileage.

When I used Windows winamp was generally my preferred application for playing music. Maybe there's something better now...

For video you're often stuck with WMP since a lot of videos on the internet are in .wmv files and these don't always play in other players (this is especially true of porn)

For mp3:
I prefer winamp, and use a organized folder structure.
If that's too much hassle, you could always take a look at iTunes. From what I've seen from it, it's pretty useful.

Video:
VLC is by far the most stable software I've ever played videos on.

I've got to admit that I really like the new Windows Media Player 11. It's not near as annoying as it used to be and viewing and finding (properly tagged) MP3's is very easy. I've got about 6-7GB of MP3's and surprisingly WMP is the best I've found yet. I also like that the album art shows up when you are viewing your whole collection too.

For sying to an ext. hard drive try the Microsoft SynToy. It is free, very small, and super easy to use. Best of all it works great. It will even work over a network, allowing you to backup set files/folders to networked computers.

For videos I would recommend Media Player Classic.

For audio there really is no better than foobar although be warned, it is super customisable and not for the faint hearted.

meh, foobar looks ok but it still doesn't seem to break up songs into artists which is really what I'm looking for. Musicmatch did a great job of this prior to their merging with Yahoo which just butchered the program. Like I said, I've tried winamp but no success in good organization. WMP is too idiotic and I have too many duplicate songs on there plus the auto-updates drive me nuts.

itunes I have tried and am not impressed with, really takes up a lot of system resources.

I'm also not downloading programs from unknown sites from posters who have a total of 2 posts. Kinda suspect DUCY?
