Default Re: Sweating Cards = Dead Hand?

I'd vote it being a dead hand under the one player to a hand rule.

Simple fact is that the player showed his cards to another, recieved a comment about the cards, and went on to play the hand. If that isn't two players to a hand what is?

How can you then start making judgements over how much information they give as to if it was two players in the hand. Once you start down that route you're going to find different interpretations of things start leading to different amounts of help etc, a slipery slope.

Simply make it if another player comments on you're hand once you show them, you're hand is dead. Its you're reponsibility to protect you're cards.

This where i have a problem. Violation of One player to a hand does not require that the cards be shown, you can violate the rules without the cards being shown. And typically when a player flashes his cards to a neighbor not in the hand he is not seeking input from that player.

Poker is not about killing hands for rules infractions. There are other ways to enforce the rules without killing hands.

Tell host not to shove air when he's laying the preflop raiser almost 2.5-1 on a call.

TAG tanks completely and after a while looks about to fold. He lifts his hand up and shows it to the player sitting to his right (Host is on his left). The player he shows the cards to says "I know exactly what I'd do with those" with some confidence.

After this happens the TAG thinks for 25seconds or so then calls. Immediately after the TAG says call the host flips saying that only one person can be to a hand and the hand is dead and he scoops the money.

Problem 1 The TAG shouldn't of shown his cards to the player on his right. The host should of commented on it right away.

Problem 2 THe player on the right should never of said anything at all and as soon as he did, someone should of quoted the one hand to one player rule.

Problem 3 The host rules the hand dead? This is a very bad ruling. Too late to make that call. The host had 25 seconds to complain, can't rule a hand dead here. Really guys, wait 25 seconds for someone to call then rule his hand dead, thats a real angleshoot of rules.
