A fair number of the pitchers he faced were probably juicers too. So were a lot of hitters who didn't hit hardly any home runs (Randy Velarde.... Alex Sanchez anyone?). He was still among the elite on a decidedly unlevel playing field. That being said, I'm not going to feel the least bit sorry for him in ten years when his heart, liver, and testicles simultaneously explode from all the HGH.

no one can argue the fact of the type of hitter he was

pitchers feared him
managers hated to pitch to him
was this due to steroids- no
it was due to the fact that the man could hit a baseball all over the field and was one of the top 3 hitters all time unarguable

did he use roids? probably yes, should that matter 100% no.. he was not the only one nor will he be the last..
what about sosa, what bout mcgwire, what about luis gonzalez, what about palmerio, nothing about those guys,

the man simply put was a machine hitter, yes with steroids came power, but one of the hardest things to do in life is hit a round object with a another round object and put it where you want
