<< college student who left his golf shorts at home.

Still a muni course hack. But I play quick in spite of that.

Yes, I own golf shorts but not golf shoes.

Keep that head down!

Comments please.

Take a golf shaft, or something similar, and stick it in the ground so that it stands straight up just outside your left ankle.

Swing so that you don't knock over the shaft.
Your left leg should begin to firm up through the hitting area, improving both distance and accuracy.

(The same can very likely be said about your backswing. i.e. put the shaft just outside your right ankle and don't bump it on the way back)

You still want to have weight transition- right going back, left going through; but you want it done more effectively.

Best of luck.

Thanks JTrout. This damn golf forum has only enhanced my desire to get out on the course and play again. Yay.

Having a wider stance will also keep you a bit more stable. You don't happen to take the club past parallel do ya?

Losing the jorts should save you a shot or two as well.

It appears you're chicken winging it a bit and your lower body looks like [censored].

I'd get a lesson.

I know this is 6 days old, but seriously, invest $60 in a nice polo shirt, khaki shorts, and some Footjoys. I'm sure you're a nice dude, but you look like a dumb dumb out there in those clothes.

I prefer "muni hack who takes 5 hours to play." I own khaki shorts and polo shirts, but I did not have them with me down at school. As noted in other threads, I'm looking to get some galfin shoes. I have not done so yet, but I assure you that I don't always look like a scrub out there.

Then again, I don't particularly find it all that bad to look like a dumb dumb. The golf course is certainly not the only place I look like one, anyway.

As someone said, Ecco makes really great shoes. But they are pretty expensive. My contour series Footjoys are really nice, to me at least. And they were about half as much as Eccos.
