[/ QUOTE ] he isn't playing 1/2 --- 5/10 True [/ QUOTE ] Well he can raise the turn since there are plenty of worse hands that nwin will bet/call here and it's rather unlikely that nwin will 3-barrel on the river (although he did it here but if you watch the rest of the session you will see that this is not the rule). So I think the only reason Erik played it WA/WB (or whatever you call it) is that he had some respect for the preflop 3-bet And to True: I'm waiting for you, HU 10/20 |

On the other hand, if we're going to make that the point, Erik undoubtedly knows his play better then you do. |

It's just that this hand is either about specific reads that these players have on each other like that NW is likely or not to three barrel here, in which case these players are much better judges of the correct play then people that weren't there, or it's about how you would play this hand against a tough aggressive TAG. |

Re: Two 1K/2K Hands
I'm not sure why the consesus is that neverwin screwed up the river on the 1st hand by going for the C/R. I think neverwin's thinking (and I'd tend to agree) is that he has a better shot of collecting 2BBs than 3. Granted, maybe he should try and ensure at least 1 BB going in, so that's definitely a significant reason to try b/3b'ing.
On the second hand, I don't particularly like neverwin's play overall, but against Erik (who, from the hands I've seen, doesn't seem to be as much of a showdown monkey as some; though, it's obviously nothing conclusive) I can understand the river bet. |

Re: Two 1K/2K Hands
[ QUOTE ]
metagame and balancing one's play is too much of a factor in shorthanded games against fellow experts. sometimes you must 3 barrel even if it's likely you get called. sometimes you must c/r with the nuts even if bet-3 bet is a little better to keep from being bluffed as often on the river oop against a tough player and to set up future successful c/r bluffs against a fearless value better. it's all about hands that already happened and hands yet to come. so in a vacuum these hands are uninteresting. [/ QUOTE ] when/why should you 3barrel even if likely to be called? |

Re: Two 1K/2K Hands
neverwin is actually a winning player? Wow I always thought he was considered a fish by the other high stakers... Things change.
