Suggestions/discussion of new FAQ for forum

I unstickied (but didn't unlock) the old sticky. It isn't deleted or anything, but when something gets unstickied it falls off the front page since is is now sorted by date with the rest of the threads.

I have stickied the current version of the faq that ottsville posted. It is very good; thanks to him for his work on that.

The faq as it exists now is not intended to be a final unchanging document. New questions and answers will be posted as they are suggested and old information will be removed if it becomes outdated and inaccurate. If anyone in the future has something they want to see changed or added, they should PM me. For now, let's keep using this thread.

I will try to go through this thread later tonight and add anything from here that I think should go in the faq. I also have a few links of my own I would like to add. A lot of what bholdr said in his post is the same as what I have been thinking. I agree that wherever possible I would rather provide links as answer rather than trying to stick in one post long answers to every question.

I want to add some questions about playing in a casino for the first time, building a bankroll, what different types of games people play (sit n gos vs. mtts vs. cash games, limit vs. nl, etc.)

In addition to linking to the zoo sticky, there are some questions about online play that I want to have some sort of answer to, particularly "is it legal?" and "how do I get money online?"

I also am planning to include a guide to the other forums on twoplustwo that may address topics the beginner wants to ask about (e.g., home poker and b&m).

Bobby, thx for stickying it...can I suggest that you add a note/question to the FAQ saying what you said above "ie if you have any suggestions for additions to this FAQ then please PM me" etc etc yada yada yada
