Did I mess this hand up completely?
Blinds $2.50/5
Seat 1: Villain ( $614.25 ) Seat 2: Ezzo ( $241.25 ) Seat 3: omahaking ( $833.50 ) Seat 5: Hero ( $702 ) Seat 6: Dynken ( $325.75 ) Villain posts small blind [$2.50] Ezzo posts big blind [$5] ** Dealing down cards ** Dealt to Hero [ Ac, Ad ] omahaking folds Hero raises to [$17.50] Dynken folds Villain calls [$15] Ezzo folds ** Dealing Flop ** [ 8c, Tc, 9d ] Villain checks Hero bets [$32] Villain calls [$32] ** Dealing Turn ** [ 9c ] Villain checks Hero bets [$80] Villain calls [$80] ** Dealing River ** [ 8h ] Villainchecks Hero bets [$150] Villain goes all-in Villain raises to [$484.75] Hero?? notes: 1. I have only sat down and do not recognise villain. However, I am new to this site, so this is to be expected. 2. I figured any ten calls me there, any strangely played JJ-KK calls. In my experience against unknowns players dont check that river o.o.p because after being called down twice few players will three-barrel and even less will make such a thin valuebet. Any thoughts on all streets appreciated. |

if you merge your range on this river you have to fold to teh cr [/ QUOTE ] im not too sure i understand/agree with this. could you pls elaborate? also, do you think the betting up until the river is appropriate, or would you say that most of the time i should have checked one of the streets? |

Re: Did I mess this hand up completely?
I like the thin river value-bet. I agree a better hand would normally have woken up already, from fear of a river check from you, which is very likely given the scary board. So his hand really looks like JT or something.
I think you really have to fold to the check-raise. The bottom line is that river check-raise bluffs are very rare at these stakes. |

Re: Did I mess this hand up completely?
I'd usually check the turn, and sometimes pick off a river bet, sometimes not.
If I had bet the turn, it's because I think he pays off pretty light, so I would usually bet the river. As played, fold, he has a full house. |
