Re: Great anonymous interview about being a broke player
whoever this guy is is a pahtetic loser, if you only put 30% of yourself in a tournament you are not going to win it..and I have NEVER EVER EVER EVER needed backing nor will I. The only people who need backing are degenerate gamblers who are sick and spewing chips left and right. He even said he couldnt play online cause he spews chips..so really what does it matter if he's a pro cause it's quite obvious that he is not a good one. You think after this long he could learn some basic bankroll management. Anyone who follows proper bankroll managment should never go busto..assuming you don't blow as much balls as whoever this is

Re: Great anonymous interview about being a broke player
Pescatori Cardplayer Article
[ QUOTE ] Here is my third very important rule: I never talk to my girlfriend while I'm in a game. This is probably something that everyone should do. I've seen this over and over again: a cellphone rings, a player answers it, and after the phone call, the game of this unfortunate individual gets way too loose. It may be that they had an argument, maybe she would like him to come home, or something else. Relationships are a big cause of losing money. The best thing to do is to turn off your phone while you're playing; you can always talk to her after work (and vice versa if the player is a woman). There are exceptions to every set of rules. I do know some players who can drink and play well, like Mike Laing and "Minneapolis" Jim Meehan. There are also some players who have relationships with very understanding partners, although I cannot name one at this time! [/ QUOTE ] |

Also wouldn't it be fairly easy to cross ref. the 30ish 2006 WSOP winners and looking up houses sold for 600K+ to famous poker players, during that summer shouldn't be hard to find |
