I didn't see any options for XP.

I may buy XP and install it on it's own though lolz waste on moneyments. But I think these higher-end systems will be fine with Vista.

Also, I had this comp for 2 years and haven't broke it at all, the hinges are bad but that is all. I have also dropped it 3 or 4 times, which is actually probably going to jump to 0 when I get this one as I am more careful now with my comps.

If you already own vista on a previous laptop there should be no reason to pay for a new copy afaik.

Should be fine. I ordered almost the same configuration but was nittier on a couple of things to get it to exactly 1399 el oh el.

The biggest problem though: Where do I find a good looking backpack for this heavy monster that doesn't scream LAPTOP BAG. Preferred colour: Black. Material: No leather, maybe suede.

Sweetwater;

I actually was told the 7700 is pointless and you should always go for the second best. I have no idea why I was told this but it sounded good

Yea the coupon is a blast it is hard to pass up. I am thinking about getting another smaller comp for class and hit exactly 1400, but uhh that might be kinda stupid

Anyways, with the laptop thing...I just got a laptop sleeve and the laptop fits in my bag well, and it isn't custom or anything.

P.S. Hihghn you're gay.

The reason one would normally purchase the second best processor is that the top end normally carries an excessive premium. Notice the jump from #2 to #1 costs $125 for 200Mhz, whereas going from #3 to #2 costs $75 for 200MHz.

I think this applies to a lot of stuff you purchase, not just computers.

Are you sure you had to add something to get to $1399? The $500 coupon isn't compatible with other offers. I'm looking at what I think is the same system and it says "starting price: $1784, instant savings: 270, subtotal: 1514." I don't think you can use the 270 instant rebate and the 500 coupon together.

WTF Dell is so [censored] annoying.

I ordered a laptop using this sweetass coupon, which is nice. But like an hour later I get a phone call saying "this is to confirm your order" blah blah blah. It takes me to some customer service lady. WTF I have to talk to an actual person? The whole point of buying things online is so I don't have to interact with people.

So this lady proceeds to go through every spec of the computer and ask me stupid questions like ARE YOU SURE YOU DONT NEED MS WORD YOU CAN UPGRADE THAT. HOW ABOUT VIRUS SOFTWARE DO YA HAVE THAT DO YA WANT THAT YOU CAN UPGRADE AND GET THE MCAFEE. ARE YOU A GAMER. HOW BOUT WIRELESS INTERNET SERVICE IS THAT SOMETHING YOU MIGHT WANT

Hey incompetent hooer: If I wanted that useless crap I would've checked the boxes when I placed the [censored] order.

Now of course if I ever call them and actually want help with something they'd probly put me on hold for 20 minutes and then tell me to make sure it's plugged in or some [censored]

And what's up with having to pay sales tax? Is that just because I live in TX?

If I didn't get such a great deal on this I'd return it right after I got it just because of that [censored] phone call. [censored] hate Dell
