Default Nut Straight but TONS of action

15/30 Hawaiian Gardens

EP is somewhat passive, reasonable player. MP is TAG with some oddball betting mixed in, may be less skilled then he looks but haven't seen enough hands to know for sure. SB is loose passive who likes to chase.

Preflop:
EP calls, EP1 calls, MP calls, Hero calls on the button with 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]8 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], SB calls, BB checks.

Flop: 6 handed, 6SB
5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
SB checks, BB checks, EP bets, EP1 folds, MP raises, hero 3-bets, SB calls, BB folds, EP calls, MP calls

Turn: 4 handed, 9BB
4 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
checked to hero, hero bets, SB calls, EP folds, MP calls

River: 3 handed, 12BB
8 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]
MP bets, hero calls, SB calls

Comments on any streets? Assume I know the preflop call is marginal, I'm fine with a fold here most of the time. The table was pretty aggressive so having it limped to me was a pretty good sign of weak cards from the other players and position gave me a good shot at the pot if no one hit.

How do people feel about the bet on the turn knowing there could be a fh out there?

Good turn bet. There is no indication that someone had a set on the flop.

I also like the overcall on the river.

I think you played it fine.

Not betting would be terribly weak.

This really isn't much action.

Anyhow, I play every street exactly the same.

I agree not that much action, lots of bets after the board pairs could be scary and the flush on the river could be scary but it seems to me you played it perfectly. Not sure I could fold even if there WAS tons of action.

I agree with everyone and you. Not betting the turn would be criminal, and the call on the river seems right.

Standard. Yeah, preflop is marginal but against a bunch of weak players that is what the button is for. Either that or I just have a pathological thing for 86s.

I am going to speculate that you wouldn't make this post playing 2/4. I suggest that your move up to 15/30 made you question what you know to be good play at lower levels. My speculation is that you are looking for differences in LLHE strategy at the different playing levels.

So far, our moves up have shown some differences in the play at different levels. One problem is, live, those differences may be location specific. Look at the differences between HG and Commerce in LLHE and the casinos are just 12 miles apart. I don't know the why they are different. I just know that they are. I also know that I (we?) are not doing the most we can do to exploit those differences.

For these differences, experience, ours or another trusted local, may be our only truly reliable sources.

Just food for thought.

Yeah, I ended up losing this hand and just wanted to see if I'd missed anything. Fishyak hit it on the nose that I'm also seeing if there's anything that might be different about playing this hand at 15/30 as opposed to 8/16 or 4/8.

I ended up losing the hand, MP had 67s and SB had 62 of clubs for the rivered flush. I didn't think I could play it any differently, but that's what you guys are for
