As others said, different rooms enforce this differently. Some rooms require you to fall below a certain amount before buying more chips while others allow you to top off your stack constantly.

Ask at the specific room you're going to play at. If they allow you to top off constantly, I actually recommend keeping extra chips of your own (off the table) so that you can top off your stack without constantly holding up the game to buy $20 in chips.

Be forewarned of the following:

1. All NL games have a $100 max buy-in
2. FH appears to work for Tampa Greyhound with as often as he advertises for them, in all caps every time no less
3. The games at Tampa Greyhound may not be that great as I've heard their big Sunday tournaments have never even started due to lack of entries (which translates to a small player pool with no money)
4. Cardrooms that are not on Indian land are only open 12 hours a day, usually closing at midnight or 1am
5. Hard Rock is on Seminole land and open 24 hours
6. Hard Rock recently introduced timed rake priced per half hour: $6 @ 1/2NL, $7 @ 2/5NL, $8 @ 5/10NL

[/ QUOTE ]

Yea the time raked price is a fuucking joke they are doing it at the hardrock here in south florida also and i refuse to go ... what a travesty for that crap ... the max rake there was 5 dollars a pot no matter the limit anyway and now they want to charge u ... what happens when u dont win a pot for an hour... unreal... they are losing a lot of business down here with that BS

[/ QUOTE ]

Better check with the room before you do that. At Brighton, I was doing exactly that: buying $100 in red at the front desk, putting $50 in my pocket and sitting down with $50. If I got below $40, I was taking out a couple of reds and topping back up to $50. Someone saw me do that and said something to the floor. The room manager told me I can't do that. All chips must be put into play, and any re-buys must be done through the dealer. Stupid!

I think Jasper is the closest. It is about an hour up 75 near I-10. Then the rooms in Jax are probably the next closest.

For the Hard Rock in Hollywood Florida:

Well everyone got their wish they are no longer time charging the 1/2 NL games. It is back to the standard rake of 10% up to 5 per hand. This is as of Friday morning 7:00 AM. 9/14/07

The time charge is still in place for the 2/5 and 5/10 NL games.

I am there every day time charge or rake. So if anyone wants to stop and say hello feel free.
