I'm sure you are beat, but you have 1/2 your stack in there, and you hopefully have some outs. He probably has a medium pair. Maybe he is a donk and has AJ. You must call. This is why you don't raise to 3XBB with a 15BB stack holding A2 OOP.

Re: 4/180 - 29 left, Steal with A2s
My usual caveat that I'm a beginner and I suck at this game, but...
I like the steal, although the consensus around here seems to be that 2.5BB is better than 3 at this stage of the tourney. But I don't like the CBet into two callers, one of whom is aggressive, with an icky board. Probably, the raise from the button was predictable, and you should have planned on it. It seems to me that his range includes an awful lot of stuff that beats you, and you have no fold equity at all. I would fold. |

Even though it seems like your somewhat to mostly pot comited id fold because he can be playing anything and if he had rags he hit the flop plus you have bottom pair
either all in or fold |

Re: 4/180 - 29 left, Steal with A2s
I think if your going to make that cbet on the flop your gonna have to be willing to shove/call all-in. He flat called so he could have a Midpair, maybe a couple of broadway cards and be banking on you missing the flop too. It's a 4/180 so he could have called with rags but I think with the chip stack sizes, your ethier checking the flop hoping for another 2 or A and folding to a bet or betting and being willing to get it all in when there is a chance your way behind. I suck in these situations and usually I'll check/fold and leave myself enough of a stack to do damage with as I go into pushbot mode but I've gotten in against KQ or AK enough in this spot that it's not just automatic to check/fold.

Re: 4/180 - 29 left, Steal with A2s
I definitely hoped for overcards (AK, AQ, KQ etc.) and called his all-in. I just wanted to know if my play was hopeless ...
By the way - why shouldn´t I raise to 3BB here? Would 2.5 BB be better? In my experience those are much more lightly called ... or shouldn´t I have tried to steal at all? Yet, I was drowning and wanted to build up my stack ... |
