Default AJ Offsuit

This question is really just meant for online games. As far as live games go my action pretty much depends on what the game is like and my reads on the players left to act behind me.

Online I always come in with a raise if I am the first one to enter the pot in early position (first 3 after the blind). My reasons for this is that I am simply trying to shorten the field. Just curious if anyone can tell me if this is a mistake or am I am doing the right thing. Also curious how other people play this hand.

I'm just starting to question whether or not I am playing this hand properly, as poker tracker would indicate no, I am not. My hand samples for this hand in this position are not large enought to really tell.

It seems odd to me that KJo in early position is an easy toss in the muck but I am raising with AJ everytime I enter.

Side note: I play AQo the exact same way.

i rather toss ajo utg then raising it. because most likely ull only get calls from hands that dominate u (jj,aq+) or get reraised after which u have to fold.

shorthanded its a different story tho..

I'll toss AJo from UTG and UTG+1, UTG+2 I'll open raise it, if I get 3-bet I play extremely carefully. However AJs I'll raise UTG. Shorthanded its raised everytime
