man, this sucks. I wish they only did it at the lower limits. It is much easier to SS higher limits in all honesty.

[/ QUOTE ]

That's because higher level players understand when they aren't getting correct implied odds.

[/ QUOTE ]

Not completely, donks pay you off more by calling than folding usually. It mainly deals with the propensity to open raise vs. open limp. Much harder to play vs. a limper than raiser as a SS.

This just happens over and over again at NL25. They are annoying but as long as they don't learn how to play it correctly I'll gladly take one of these at every table I play at.

Poker Stars - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.10/$0.25 Blinds - 8 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter)

SB: $5.95
BB: $24.40
Hero (UTG): $25.00
UTG+1: $24.50
MP1: $47.65
MP2: $25.90
CO: $41.05
BTN: $4.65

Preflop: Hero is dealt K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (8 Players)
Hero raises to $1.00, 5 folds, SB calls $0.90, BB folds

Flop: ($2.25) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 Players)
SB bets all-in for $4.95, Hero calls $4.95

Turn: ($12.15) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 Players - 1 All-In)

River: ($12.15) K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 Players - 1 All-In)

Pot Size: $12.15 ($0.60 Rake)

SB had 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (high card King) and LOST (-$5.95)
Hero had K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (three of a kind, Kings) and WON (+$5.60)

25NL is more 60%-or-less stacks than full stacks. Its pretty annoying when every 40%vpip table is 6 short stacks, a 15$ buy in, me, and any number of regs that are supernits.

Please email support to stop this. Here is my email.

As a loyal player I am writing to tell you that I think it is very important
that you do NOT institute new 50 BB minimum buyin tables at any of the limits.
I know this is being advocated by Daniel Negraneau, members of two plus two, and
many other professional players, but it takes away from the spirit of the game
which emphasizes adaptation and skill in many different game conditions.

In fact, I think that it makes more business sense to LOWER the minimum buyin to
10 BB. This is better for both PokerStars (players with $40 buyins at $.25/.50
will not contribute as much rake as those with $40 at $1/2 because of the
number of BB they have to commit to a pot in order to reach the capped rake)
and the poker economy. It will benefit the players in general because the
numerous "fish" generally prefer to play with a much shallower stack even if
they are willing to continuously reload. If the minimum buyin is raised you
will already lose the rake from the many players who will move down in limits
and will also probably lose a large portion of your player base that will move
to many other sites like FullTilt, Prima, OnGame, etc. Several of these sites
already allow players to buyin for 10 BB which stimulates action and drives the
rake upwards.

Finally, the players that are petitioning for an increase in the minimum buyin
are the small portion of professional players and not the masses of
recreational players. I would venture to assume that 99+% of the players on
PokerStars, myself included, are recreational players. If you choose to
support the few professionally players in raising the minimum buyin then you
are in effect turning a blind eye to the masses. The professionals are going
to continue to play no matter what changes you make to the game, after all that
is how these players make a living. In making any future changes, especially as
it relates to the structure of NLHE ring games, I think it is very important to
consider your average player and not the outspoken minority of professional
players.

Concerned player,

That hand had me looking at the monitor with my mouth open, trying to understand SB's play.

QJo I could understand, but 62o?

SB must have creamed himself when that 7 fell on the turn. "Oh! I have a straight draw. I'm a genius!"

I know Phy, funny stuff. Most of the time, I see AJ or AT from the short stack donk in this spot. Besides that, the biggest leak I see from them is calling raises with mid and small pockets, then check/folding...lol at calling 4BB raises with a 20BB stack.

Called down light..

10 bb buy-ins? You have to be kidding me. Why are you so against this idea? My understanding is that there will still be regular tables where you can short stack if you insist. But at least players will have the option to play at tables where there is a higher min buy in. This will not cost stars any rake because leaches (I mean short stacks) can still play at regular tables. At the very least they could implement a no ratholing policy by making you return to the table with what you left with.
