What's the best ball you can buy for under $1?

I keep losing too many Pro V's, what are some recommendations?

I love the Top Flite D2 Straight. I think they are 18 balls for under 20 bucks at Walmart by me.

Pro V's are worthless to anyone over a single digit handicap and probably more towards a 5 or 6. They aren't going to make a difference in a 15 handicap, so why waste the money?

Play with a couple of different brands and types until you find something you're comfortable with. I use the Nike PD powersoft, but only because they feel good to me coming off of the face. My brother in law, a similar handicap, uses Maxifli Fires. My dad uses Callaways. I can't make a specific recommendation for you, so try a whole bunch of different brands and see what feels and plays best. Use the savings on a few extra rounds!

Used/recycled pro v's. I get mine at K-mart. 15 bucks for 15 balls i think? They are all in pretty good condition

I'm just starting out and my dad said the dozen pack of Slazengers they have at dicks for under 10 bucks is probably the best ball for me. They are probably the cheapest 3 piece balls in any store. I tried to find a link on their website for them but I there isn't one. Both Dicks around me have them for 9.70 a dozen. They are in a black box.


One of my friends used to carry cheap balls for scary shots but I convinced him it was a bad idea because:

1) it makes you a pussy
2) it will effect your mental state and cause you to hit bad shots.

I don't use the "Raw distance" ones in the black box, I use some other type. On the back it says "good for beginners" or something like that

I don't care if you're a woman or not, but Lady Precept MC is a pretty good ball. Good distance, fairly good feel, and I can usually find them for around $10/dozen at Dick's.

the nike balls at target for like 14.95 are good...they are just over 1$ per ball but still worth it

I play Wilson Smart Core. I like them. U can buy them for about 70 cents a ball at TGW. Packages of 15 for $10.

I'm in Japan (vacation) here, the used grab bags are great. 30 balls for 900yen (around $7.50 usd) inside you'll find about half are really good (Pro V1 & X's, Callaway, XXIO, etc...)

Funny how anything used in this country is worthless.
