What would you classify a guy with these #'s

i'm poker tracking a friend of mine out of curiosity. he's running 34% vpip and 6% preflop raise over the 1700 hands. he limps/cold calls ALOT (mostly in position) but claims his superior post flop play is his edge.

i try to not to criticize people, mostly because humans almost never respond positively to it, but i was wondering what you guys think. loose passive? how would you exploit a player like this? he's running 16.5/100 fwiw. i know 1700 hands inst a huge sample, but i think its a pretty good snapshot of his style.

I would classify a 34/6 as "Bad", but I guess loose-passive captures it too. In terms of exploiting a player like this, I'd try to play lots of pots with them in position, cbet a lot since they're going to be calling too much preflop with marginal hands. I'd also value bet them hard when I do catch a piece of a flop, since they're going to make lots of middle pair and TP no kicker type hands.

Edit: also, 1700 hands is literally nothing, so the fact that he's running at 16.5bb/100 is essentially meaningless.

loose passive. i'm gonna kill him in the long run by isolating him in pos. so he is playing out of position w/o the initiative. cos he is playing so loose as well on average my hand will be better than his

so to conclude: i will be in most pots against him with
1)position
2)initiative
3)better hand

he is gonna have to be jesus postflop to make up for that disadvantage

on an added note, he isn't gonna be stealing the blinds at all either so when we have trash in the blinds we get to see a free flop with a disguised hand (he can't put us on a hand postflop because it is random) and it is going to be hard for him to handread

Is this 6-max? I wouldn't be all that surprised to see a style like this be profitable FR provided he's doing it mostly in position.

But then again 34 VPIP is pretty high so he's probably just running hot.
