If you are consideirng going pro and have big problems with tilt, you may want to consider another alternative.

[/ QUOTE ]
lag--------------------------------->lap

dont ever put in a ton of bets with one pair and lose.

only raise the nuts.

no one will know because you raise a lot preflop.

[/ QUOTE ]

I dont understand this.

I think he means that most people assume that if you raise a lot pre-flop that you raise a lot post-flop as well.

I think miles is saying people are unobservant so they still call your raises down with anything showdownable just because you have an aggressive preflop image, even if you rarely semibluff or raise less than top pair

edit: what abso said

Consider the -EV of Heis's tilt

Therefore it's +EV for him to not try and jam every single little tiny edge he has.

that's not what this game is about. not if you're going to reply to it with a thread like this. you don't have to. slow down

blah blah blah danza rambles

heis just hire me as your coach

can anyone estimate their tilt in money.

I wildly gestimate mine at 1 sb/100 so only ~$50,000 a year

I feel you, I don't think I've ever been more unstoked on life than when I lost 100BB getting all my money in good and being rivered everytime, best feeling ever, especially when I continue to play and lose half my roll like a donk on tilt.

1 tabling ftw. seriously I play one or two tables and focus on EVERY SINGLE decision when I start feeling like this.

[/ QUOTE ]

I think this is important..
Less the 1 tabling part and more the thinking about EVERY decision. Pausing like 2-3 seconds before you complete an action. This may require playing less tables..

My tilted decisions have much more to do with impulsivity than lack of discipline to execute the action I think is best... so this is good advice

Then again sometimes my thought process is
"Damn... he would probabily have raised earlier with a pair, so he probabily ddidnt hit two pair.. This board is a little too scary for him to be donking with a riverd pair of 3s, so he probabily made a straight or has nothing... F*ckin lucky fish, this is so BS"
and I click raise... and he 3-bets.... and I call

IRL , I make impulsive/bad decisions under pressure, I have poor self discipline and get emotionally flustered when things dont go my way, quickly..
This obviously manifests itself in poker too.

They are all destructive traits, and ones I want to get under control for reasons other than poker.

That thread is also awesome because the OP - lmn55d (now The Funky Llama on 2+2) is like one of the best limit players in the world now.
