hit-n-run
recently, i left a table after maybe 30 minutes,
and shortly after winning a pot that put me up a mere 20% of the buy-in. later, playing against a player who was at that table, said that everyone was accusing me of "hit-n-run"-ing them after i left. i said, "i've left plenty of times being down 50% or more, and no one ever complains about that, so i don't want to hear it." i didn't even think this WAS a hit-n-run... 2ndly, i might get "annoyed" at someone doing the classic hit-n-run, but i always think "no big deal..." how many times has some maniac shown up at table, gone all in, busted and left? it's all part of the game. thoughts? |

Re: hit-n-run
If this is at a casino/public cardroom, you can get up and leave whenever the [censored] you want.
If this was a homegame at a buddy's house, you'd be a douchebag. I'm assuming this was a cardroom, so you are fine. They are just gripey. I sat in a 6/12 recently, while waiting for an 8/16 seat. I posted in the CO, won my first two hands, got called to 8/16 and left, up ~$120 in four minutes or so. Didn't feel the slightest bit guilty. |

Re: hit-n-run
yeah...if its people in a cardroom, they find ways to complain about being dealt two cards in a holdem game.

Re: hit-n-run
thanks for the replies.
i took exception, i suppose, at the implication of impropriety. this was online, playing razz. at the time, after playing for a while, i realized that i was just way too tired to continue and quit. |

Re: hit-n-run
Try not to worry about it quirk. Everyone loves to moan at the poker table since it's ultimately not a truly "fair" game. You definitely didn't do anything wrong.

this was online [/ QUOTE ] There is no way you should worry about hit-n-runs on-line. Change tables whenever you want, as often as you want, for any reason that you want. If the table is too tight, then leave. Too lag, then leave. You're too tired, then leave. It's on-line! Even in a live card room, you'd be fine getting up and leaving whenever you want. But if this is a home game that just started, then winning and leaving shortly after arriving would be really bad form. |
