2-week-old screen starts to turn yellow in a corner. Warranty?
Hi!
I have a 22" LG 226WTQ that I bought 2 weaks ago and I realized 2 days ago that in the upper right corner the colors turn yellow. I made two pictures with my mobile phone. I think they show the effect pretty decently. What do you think? Do I have a case here for warranty etc.? When I checked out the screen at the shop there was no such effect and I haven't hit or dropped it or something like that. Or is this fixable somehow? I hooked it up to another computer and it had the same effect. Both on DVI and analog connection. And it starts humming very loudly when I turn the brightness down to 92% or something. I greatly appreciate comments before I go to the shop tomorrow and start arguing with the tech people there. Thanks. |

Re: 2-weak-old screen starts to turn yellow in a corner. Warranty?
If it happened on a different computer, take it back where you bought it and ask for a replacement. See if they can figure it out while you're there. Should be a simple swap unless you got it from Best Buy...they're lame sometimes.
2-week-old monitor = a monitor that is ~14 days old. 2-weak-old monitor(s)= two old and crappy monitors. |

Oh sorry. I corrected the title. I usually watch out for exactly this mistake. One slipped.
I don't know if they can swap. It was the last one when I bought it. so they'll probably send it in to LG to have it repaired. |

You might be able to get a refund to get a comparable monitor. Depends on their return policy. Electronics is usually around ~14 days for a refund.

Re: 2-week-old screen starts to turn yellow in a corner. Warranty?
by law you've a 1 year implied warranty on things you buy so you could always go to small claims court if you have to, or threaten to anyway if they give you a hard time.
it's not a hard coded 1 year I don't think I think it is something like product should work for a reasonable amount of time after purchase, it's Implied Warranty of Merchantability http://www.answers.com/topic/implied...ty?cat=biz-fin |
