3.25/45 on Stars - in CO holding 99 - on the bubble - correct play ?
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t800 (8 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)
MP2 (t910) Hero (t5250) Button (t4410) SB (Villain) (t8965) BB (t8385) UTG (t21845) UTG+1 (t5260) MP1 (t12475) Preflop: Hero is CO with 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 3 folds, MP2 raises to t860, HERO ? Table became quite tight some hands before approaching the payout places. The short stack was TAG but had to move. I was not concerned about him, but I'm not quite sure what my play should be here: folding was out of the question for me at this point, but maybe this is already a mistake... just call ? with 99 I guess it would be better to try get HU ? shove ? My first HH post Very good forum, I improved my english a lot, too !!! |

Easy push. You've got a monster in this situation and you don't want to limp and see a flop 3-4 way. Get it in with the dead money there. If someone overcalls you're still a favorite to make the monies.
A more interesting question would be how wide whould hero push? I'm pretty sure I'd be tempted to push any PP, Ax, and most broadway. |

BTN is going to be playing very tight since he wants to money and the blinds both have healthy stacks that they wouldn't want to jeopardize by calling two allins with a weak hand. Yeah AT and 88 are prolly calling but that's life. Our equity against shorty's huge range is big enough for me to make a play here. Also if one of the blinds does call with some garbage then shorty still has to beat both of us for hero to bubble. And since this is a turbo, we need to take this edge here if we have any hopes of winning. |
